Background

He joined Joyo Bank in April 1974 and came up through retail banking and corporate planning. He became manager of the Taga branch in June 1996, General Manager of the Retail Business Department and head of the Living and Business Consultation Center in June 2001, and General Manager of Corporate Planning in June 2002. He became Executive Officer and General Manager of Corporate Planning in June 2003, Managing Director in June 2005, Senior Managing Director in June 2009, and Representative Director and President in June 2011. From June 2014 he served a year as chairman of the Regional Banks Association of Japan. He was born in January 1952.

Selection

Mebuki Financial Group was established in April 2008 as Ashikaga Holdings, a holding company that acquired all shares of Ashikaga Bank from the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan that July. In October 2016 it integrated with Joyo Bank through a share exchange and adopted its present name. Although the holding company came from the Ashikaga side, Terakado, with five years as a bank president, came from Joyo Bank to become President, and Masanao Matsushita, who had been President of Ashikaga Holdings, moved to Executive Vice President.

Initiatives

In April 2017 the company acquired all shares of Joyo Lease (now Mebuki Lease) from Joyo Bank, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. For the fiscal year ended March 2017, which included Joyo Bank for only half a year, consolidated ordinary income was ¥213.3 billion, ordinary profit ¥52.3 billion and net income ¥158.5 billion, compared with ¥102.5 billion, ¥30.4 billion and ¥22.5 billion in FY ended March 2016 before the integration. For FY ended March 2018, the first full year, ordinary income was ¥262.4 billion, ordinary profit ¥63.5 billion and net income ¥43.1 billion.
