He joined Ashikaga Bank in April 1979. He became an Executive Officer in January 2009 and Managing Executive Officer in June 2012, and two years later, in June 2014, Director, Representative Executive Officer and President of Ashikaga Bank. That same month he also became Director, Representative Executive Officer and President of the holding company Ashikaga Holdings, and a career man who had spent 35 years at Ashikaga Bank stood at the top of both the bank and the holding company.

Selection

In June 2014 he became President of Ashikaga Holdings. The company had no previous president, and it started with one person serving as both President of Ashikaga Bank and President of the holding company. Among major shareholders for the fiscal year ended March 2015, Nomura Financial Partners held 36.87%, ORIX 12.0% and Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance 5.7%, the top three alone accounting for 54.57%. It was a shareholder structure led by an investment company rather than an operating company.

Initiatives

In October 2016 he went ahead with a business integration with Joyo Bank through a share exchange, changing the company's name from Ashikaga Holdings to Mebuki Financial Group. At the integration he handed the presidency to Kazuyoshi Terakado and moved to Executive Vice President himself. Consolidated ordinary income was ¥102.5 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2016, before the integration, and ¥213.3 billion in FY ended March 2017, which spanned it, roughly doubling in scale.
