A career employee who joined in April 1973, he took 34 years to reach the board. He climbed in two-year steps—Director in June 2007, Managing Director in June 2009, Representative Director and Managing Director in June 2011—and became President in June 2013, 40 years after joining. In April 2015 he also became CEO while remaining President, and in April 2019 became Representative Director and Chairman.

In the fiscal year ended March 2013, the year before, the company secured consolidated net sales of ¥577.1 billion and operating income of ¥24.0 billion, yet posted a net loss of ¥8.2 billion, a fall from net income of ¥17.9 billion the previous year.

Consolidated net sales grew to ¥670.1 billion in his first year, the fiscal year ended March 2014, and ¥816.5 billion in FY ended March 2015. Over the same period, however, operating income fell from ¥20.0 billion to ¥13.3 billion, and in FY ended March 2018 it turned into an operating loss of ¥5.2 billion. In FY ended March 2019, his final year, the company posted an operating loss of ¥59.7 billion and a net loss of ¥69.6 billion, losses more than ten times those of the previous year.
