Background
He joined Toshiba in April 1985 and moved to Shibaura Mechatronics in August 1996. He served as head of the bonding equipment department at the Sagamino works in April 2009 and as deputy head of the Production and Procurement Headquarters and general manager of mechatronics systems equipment in April 2011. He became Director and head of the Production and Procurement Headquarters in June 2014, and from January 2015 also served as general manager of equipment in the Fine Mechatronics Division, which handles semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Selection
His predecessor Shigeki Fujita became head of the Fine Mechatronics Division in April 2007 and President in June 2014. Imamura likewise became head of that division in June 2019 and Representative Director, President and Executive Officer in June 2021. Two Presidents in a row came from the head of the division responsible for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In the fiscal year ended March 2021, before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥44.8 billion and operating income ¥3.0 billion.

Consolidated net sales rose from ¥44.8 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2021 to ¥88.0 billion in the FY ended March 2026, and operating income from ¥3.0 billion to ¥15.3 billion. Toshiba's shareholding was sold off in stages, and Toshiba no longer appears among the top ten shareholders for the FY ended March 2026. The largest shareholder was The Master Trust Bank of Japan (trust account) with 11.16%.
