He became a Director in June 2006 and in June 2012 took charge of the core business as Executive Officer and General Manager of the Motion Control Division. Selection

In March 2016 he succeeded Junji Tsuda as President. His predecessor had been Chairman and President for three years and remained Chairman, handing over only the presidency. In the fiscal year ended March 2015, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥400.1 billion, operating income ¥31.5 billion and net income ¥24.8 billion, the recovery from the loss-making FY ended March 2010 having been completed. The appointment appears to reflect his record leading the core motion control business.

Initiatives

Over his seven years, consolidated net sales rose from ¥411.2 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2016 to ¥555.9 billion in the FY ended February 2023, and operating income from ¥36.7 billion to ¥68.3 billion. The fiscal year-end was moved from March to February with the FY ended February 2018. In the FYs ended February 2020 and February 2021, net sales fell to ¥410.9 billion and ¥389.7 billion, and operating income shrank to ¥24.2 billion and ¥27.2 billion. In March 2022 he became Representative Director, Chairman and President, and in March 2023 he stepped down as President to serve solely as Chairman. In May 2026 he returned as Chairman and President, succeeding Masahiro Ogawa.
