Background
He joined Kubota in April 1989. He became Executive Officer and General Manager of Tractor Division III in January 2019 and Managing Executive Officer in January 2022, and in March 2023 became Director and Managing Executive Officer while serving as President of Kubota North America Corp. and Kubota Tractor Corp. He became Director, Senior Managing Executive Officer and General Manager of the Farm and Industrial Machinery Consolidated Division in January 2024 and Representative Director and Executive Vice President in January 2025. Having also served as President of Kubota Holdings Europe, he is a career insider who led the European subsidiaries from 2021 and the North American ones from 2022.

In the fiscal year ended December 2025, just before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥3,018.8 billion and operating income ¥265.5 billion, with operating income down from ¥315.6 billion the year before.
Initiatives
Citing the strain of trying to hold market share in North American compact tractors as Asian rivals moved in as his reason for change, he set out in the mid-term management plan issued in February 2026 a shift in tractors and other products from a share focus to a margin focus, along with ¥1.4 trillion of investment over five years. On the people side, he called globalization and the use of overseas talent the top priority and signaled an intention to raise the proportion of non-Japanese executives.
