Selection

His predecessor was Takeshi Saito. In April 2024 he became Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer. He came from the former TonenGeneral Sekiyu, and the change came seven years after the 2017 integration. In the fiscal year before he took office, ended March 2024, consolidated revenue was ¥12,344.5 billion, operating income ¥381.4 billion and net income attributable to owners of the parent ¥288.1 billion, revenue down from FY ended March 2023, when it was ¥15,016.5 billion.

Initiatives

In his first year, the fiscal year ended March 2025, profit shrank to operating income of ¥106.1 billion on consolidated revenue of ¥12,322.4 billion, but in FY ended March 2026 it recovered to operating income of ¥466.6 billion and net income attributable to owners of the parent of ¥258.7 billion. A decision during his tenure was the separate listing of JX Advanced Metals in 2025, removing the non-ferrous metals business from the holding company's consolidation. Revenue fell from ¥12,344.5 billion in the year before he took office to ¥11,765.5 billion in FY ended March 2026.
