Background

He joined USS in January 2004 as Executive Officer and deputy head of the Nagoya Business Division and became a Director that June. From June 2006, as Representative Director, Executive Vice President, head of the Auction Operations Division and head of the Nagoya Business Division, he was in charge of running the auction sites. He also became Representative Director and President of USS Support Service in March 2006 and of ABIZ in June 2008. Already in the fiscal year ended March 2006, two years after joining, he ranked tenth among major shareholders with 2.12%, rising as an outsider with a capital base behind him.

In June 2019 he became Representative Director, President and COO, succeeding Yukihiro Ando. Initiatives

Shortly after he took office, in the fiscal year ended March 2021, net income fell to ¥4.0 billion on consolidated revenue of ¥74.9 billion, down from ¥20.6 billion the year before. In FY ended March 2022 the company recovered to revenue of ¥81.5 billion, operating income of ¥41.6 billion and net income of ¥29.7 billion. Growth continued, reaching revenue of ¥104.0 billion and operating income of ¥54.2 billion in FY ended March 2025, and revenue of ¥113.9 billion, operating income of ¥59.8 billion and net income of ¥41.4 billion in FY ended March 2026. Revenue was 1.4 times the ¥79.9 billion of the year before he took office.
