Background
He joined the department store division of Kintetsu (now Kintetsu Department Store) in 1957 and left in September 1962. In October that year he moved to Tokyo Office Machine Co., Ltd., where he stayed until September 1967. In April 1968 he founded OBIC and became its Representative Director and President. As of the fiscal year ended March 2013 he was a founder holding 288,000 of the company's shares.
Selection
As founder he became President himself, so he had no predecessor. He served as President for 35 years, from the founding in April 1968 until stepping back to Chairman in April 2003. In February 2006 he returned to the presidency as Representative Director, Chairman and President, holding the post for a total of 45 years until handing it to Shoichi Tachibana in April 2013.
Initiatives
The company listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange in December 1998 and was moved to the First Section one year and three months later, in March 2000. In March 2004 it listed its subsidiary OBIC Business Consultants Co., Ltd. on the TSE First Section. In October 2012 it absorbed two companies, OBIC System Engineering and OBIC Business Solution. In the fiscal year ended March 2013, consolidated revenue was ¥50.4 billion and operating income ¥19.4 billion.
