He served as general manager of Finance from April 2008 and of Materials and Logistics from April 2011, and joined the officer ranks as Executive Officer and general manager of Corporate Planning in April 2012. In January 2016, as Managing Executive Officer, he took charge of the Corporate Strategy Unit and the DIC Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art, and became a Director that March. His career ran through finance and corporate planning, not research or manufacturing.

Selection

In January 2018 he became President and Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Yoshiyuki Nakanishi. He was promoted from Director and Managing Executive Officer, moving up to President while still in charge of the Corporate Strategy Unit.
