Background
He joined Daido Sanso in November 1973. He rose through the company as Executive Officer in July 1999, Director in June 2003, Managing Director in June 2005 and Senior Managing Director in June 2013, then became Representative Director and Executive Vice President in June 2016 and Vice Chairman in June 2017. From June 2006 to June 2012 he also served as Representative Director and President of Kawaju Bousai Kogyo. A career employee, he spent 46 years at the company after joining.

In June 2019 he took the top post, succeeding Masahiro Toyoda, who had been Representative Director, Chairman and CEO. His title was Representative Director, Chairman and CEO rather than President, and he never became President of Air Water. In the fiscal year ended March 2019, the year before he took office, consolidated revenue was ¥801.5 billion, operating income ¥42.8 billion and net income ¥26.5 billion, having grown by more than ¥130 billion in two years from ¥670.5 billion in FY ended March 2017. The promotion came by way of Executive Vice President and Vice Chairman.

In the fiscal year ended March 2020, his first year, consolidated revenue was ¥814.2 billion, operating income ¥50.6 billion and net income ¥16.7 billion. In FY ended March 2021, during the pandemic, revenue fell to ¥806.6 billion, but profits recovered to operating income of ¥51.2 billion and net income of ¥27.4 billion. In FY ended March 2023 revenue reached ¥1,004.9 billion, operating income ¥62.2 billion and net income ¥40.1 billion, more than ¥200 billion above the ¥801.5 billion of the year before he took office, in four years.
