Background
He joined Daido Sanso in April 1988. He served as head of the Process Development Center at the General Development Laboratory from July 2006, Executive Officer and General Manager of the Engineering Division of the Industrial Company from June 2014, and Senior Executive Officer and head of the Engineering Management Office from April 2017. From April 2017 he was also Representative Director and President of Air Water Plant & Engineering, and from June 2018 to June 2022 he led the US subsidiary as President of AIR WATER AMERICA. He spent the 35 years from joining to the presidency within the group, with responsibilities in engineering and overseas operations.
Selection
In June 2022 he became Representative Director, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), and in April 2023 he was promoted to President and COO. His predecessor was Kiyoshi Shirai. He served only ten months as Executive Vice President and COO. In the fiscal year ended March 2023, the year before he took office, consolidated revenue was ¥1,004.9 billion and operating income ¥62.2 billion. The change appears to have entrusted the running of a business that had grown to the ¥1 trillion scale to an engineer from the engineering side.

In the fiscal year ended March 2024, his first year, consolidated revenue was ¥1,024.5 billion and operating income ¥68.3 billion, and in FY ended March 2025, his second year, revenue was ¥1,013.1 billion and operating income ¥62.5 billion after restatement of prior periods. In FY ended March 2026, his final year, the company posted an operating loss of ¥37.2 billion and a net loss attributable to owners of the parent of ¥63.9 billion on revenue of ¥1,066.8 billion, swinging into the red after two years of profit growth. In June 2026 he stepped down as President and handed over to Yoshihiro Senzai, who had been an outside director.
