Background

He entered the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in April 1984, served as Director-General of the Global ICT Strategy Bureau from June 2016 and as Vice-Minister for Policy Coordination from December 2019, and retired in March 2021. His career covered 37 years in telecommunications policy. He joined Internet Initiative Japan as an Advisor in January 2022, becoming Director and Executive Vice President in June that year and Director, Executive Vice President and Executive Officer in April 2024.
