Background

He joined Fuji Bank in April 1971. He served as manager of the Meguro branch from May 1993 and the Sukiyabashi branch from May 1995, advancing to Director and general manager of corporate development in June 1998 and Director and general manager of the first sales department in May 1999. After Mizuho Bank was launched in April 2002 he became Managing Executive Officer, and in April 2004 Director and Deputy President. In March 2006 he moved to the former Hulic as Representative Director and President, shifting from corporate banking to running a real estate company.

Selection

In July 2012 he became Representative Director and President of the current entity, formed through a merger with Shoei. He had been president of the former Hulic since March 2006, and its 2008 name change and listing also took place under him. Before the merger, in the FY ended December 2011, non-consolidated revenue was ¥11.7 billion with a net loss of ¥9.8 billion, but after the merger, in the FY ended December 2012, consolidated revenue was ¥94.3 billion and net income ¥11.5 billion.

Initiatives

During his tenure consolidated results grew from revenue of ¥94.3 billion, operating income of ¥22.6 billion and net income of ¥11.5 billion in the FY ended December 2012 to revenue of ¥170.0 billion, operating income of ¥42.0 billion and net income of ¥33.6 billion in the FY ended December 2015. Net income roughly tripled in three years. In March 2016 he stepped back to Representative Director and Chairman, handing the presidency to Manabu Yoshidome. The facts of his tenure traceable in the annual securities reports are the post-merger expansion in scale and these results.
