Background
He founded Scotch Yofukuten in September 1961 and became its Representative Director and President. In October 1973 he spun off that clothing store's casual division to found Pal, serving as its president as well. He expanded the group by starting operating companies himself, founding PMP (now P.M. Frontier) in November 1984 and Invoke Mode in February 2000. Among major shareholders in the FY ended February 2006, Scotch Yofukuten ranked first with 31.73%, and Hidetaka Inoue himself held 4.93%.
