Background
He joined Hakuhodo in April 1989 and became Executive Officer in April 2019. From April 2022 he served concurrently as Managing Executive Officer of Hakuhodo and of Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, overseeing both the advertising agency and the dedicated media company. He rose to Director and Managing Executive Officer of Hakuhodo in April 2023, and in April 2024 moved to the holding company as Executive Officer assisting the head of group strategy.

In the fiscal year ended March 2025, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥953.3 billion and operating income ¥37.6 billion, while net income had halved from ¥24.9 billion the previous year to ¥10.8 billion. The largest shareholder is the Hakuhodo Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation, at 19.77%, followed by the general incorporated association Hakuseikai at 5.03% and The Asahi Shimbun Company at 3.12%.
Initiatives
In 2025 the company launched a tender offer for Digital Holdings and made it a subsidiary. In the FY ended March 2026, his first year, consolidated net sales fell to ¥861.0 billion from ¥953.3 billion the previous year, but operating income rose from ¥37.6 billion to ¥44.7 billion and net income from ¥10.8 billion to ¥16.8 billion.
