Education: Kyoto University, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture (1962)

Selection

In June 2005 he was promoted from Executive Vice President to President. In the fiscal year ended March 2005, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥1,404.6 billion and ordinary profit ¥52.6 billion, up 25% from ¥41.9 billion the previous year. Whereas Takeo Obayashi, who served as Chairman at the same time, became a Director six years after joining in April 1977, Wakimura joined the board in 1993, 31 years after joining. It appears to have been a division of roles, with the founding family in the chairman's seat and a career builder serving as President.

Initiatives

His tenure lasted two years from June 2005, during which consolidated net sales grew 12% from ¥1,404.6 billion in FY ended March 2005 to ¥1,567.9 billion in FY ended March 2007. The company posted operating profit of ¥46.7 billion and net income of ¥34.4 billion in FY ended March 2006, and operating profit of ¥47.5 billion and net income of ¥40.6 billion in FY ended March 2007. Among shareholders in FY ended March 2006, Japan Trustee Services Bank (10.76%) and The Master Trust Bank of Japan (7.11%) ranked at the top, and the largest individual holding was Takeo Obayashi's 3.68%.
