Background

At NTT East he served as Director and Chiba branch manager from June 2008 and Managing Director and Tokyo branch manager from June 2012. In June 2015 he moved to Nippon COMSYS as Director and Executive Vice President, becoming its President a year later in June 2016. He took over as President of the holding company COMSYS Holdings another year later, in June 2017. Like his predecessor Hajime Takashima, he followed the path from NTT East officer to operating-company Executive Vice President to head of the holding company.

Selection

In June 2016 he succeeded Hajime Takashima, who had led the company for nine years, as President of Nippon COMSYS. Takashima stepped back that month to Director and senior adviser of Nippon COMSYS. In the fiscal year ended March 2016, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥320.6 billion, operating profit ¥23.8 billion and net income ¥15.4 billion, with sales down from ¥328.6 billion the previous year. The promotion came just one year after he became Executive Vice President.

Initiatives

In 2018 the company simultaneously made three listed companies, NDS, SYSKEN and Hokuriku Denwa Koji, wholly owned subsidiaries through share exchanges, bringing construction companies across the country into the group. Consolidated net sales grew 1.7-fold in four years, from ¥320.6 billion in FY ended March 2016 to ¥560.8 billion in FY ended March 2020. Operating profit also grew from ¥23.8 billion to ¥39.0 billion. In his final year, FY ended March 2023, however, net sales were ¥563.2 billion and operating profit ¥32.1 billion, down from ¥589.0 billion and ¥43.0 billion the year before.
