Background
He joined Chikugo Kosan in September 1973 and served as its Senior Managing Director. In June 1998, after 25 years there, he founded Tama Home to run a housing business and became its Representative Director and President. As founder he had strong capital backing: among major shareholders in the fiscal year ended May 2015, he ranked first with 35.46%, and together with Shinya Tamaki (6.21%), Kazunori Tamaki (4.52%) and Katsuya Tamaki (3.19%) the four held 49.38%.

He was the first President, with no predecessor. Leaving Chikugo Kosan, where he had worked for 25 years from 1973, he founded Tama Home in June 1998 and became its President. He then added titles, becoming Representative Director, Chairman and President in April 2011, Representative Director, President and CEO in July 2014, and Representative Director, Chairman, President and CEO in November 2015, remaining President for 20 years while also serving as Chairman.
Initiatives
Consolidated sales grew from ¥148.9 billion in the fiscal year ended May 2011 to ¥169.5 billion in FY ended May 2014. The company posted net losses in two straight years, FY ended May 2015 and FY ended May 2016, and sales fell to ¥138.3 billion. After recovering to sales of ¥157.0 billion and net income of ¥0.9 billion in FY ended May 2017 and sales of ¥167.9 billion and net income of ¥2.0 billion in FY ended May 2018, he handed the presidency to Shinya Tamaki in August 2018 and became Representative Director and Chairman.
