He joined Sumitomo Realty & Development in April 1984 and became an Executive Officer 20 years later, in April 2004. He became Managing Executive Officer in April 2007, a Director in June 2009 and Representative Director in June 2010, and was appointed President in June 2013. It took him 29 years from joining to become President, climbing the internal ladder step by step without working elsewhere. In the fiscal year ended March 2010, the major shareholders were led by Japan Trustee Services Bank with 5.52%, followed by trust banks and business partners such as Sumitomo Mitsui Banking, Kajima and Shimizu, with no individuals in the top ten.

Over his 12 fiscal years in office, consolidated revenue rose from ¥736.6 billion in the year before he took office to ¥1,014.2 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2025, and operating income from ¥151.3 billion to ¥271.5 billion. Net income also rose from ¥59.8 billion to ¥191.6 billion. In the fiscal year ended March 2021, during the pandemic, revenue fell from ¥1,013.5 billion the year before to ¥917.4 billion and operating income from ¥234.3 billion to ¥219.2 billion, but net income edged up from ¥140.9 billion to ¥141.3 billion.
