Background
He joined F&M in April 2001 and moved to Opt in September 2003. He became a Director of Opt in March 2011, serving as an officer of a digital advertising company. In June 2018 he became Representative Director, President and CEO of Noritsu Koki. With no manufacturing experience in his prior career, he was an outsider brought in to lead a company whose founding business was photo processing equipment.
Selection
In June 2018 he succeeded Hirotsugu Nishimoto as Representative Director, President and CEO. In the fiscal year ended March 2018, the year before he took office, the company posted consolidated net sales of ¥56.0 billion, operating income of ¥6.0 billion and net income of ¥8.9 billion, having recovered within two years from the ¥12.1 billion net loss of the fiscal year ended March 2016. With Sanku Planning, the largest shareholder, holding 41.5%, the top post was handed to someone from outside.
Initiatives
After taking office, he sold off one after another the businesses that had been acquired in the medical, senior and agricultural fields, concentrating the company on manufacturing. He moved the fiscal year-end from March to December, making the fiscal year ended December 2020 a new starting point. Consolidated net sales rose from ¥56.0 billion in the FY ended March 2018 to ¥119.2 billion in the FY ended December 2025, and operating income from ¥6.0 billion to ¥20.8 billion.
