Selection

Casio had launched the Casiotone electronic keyboard in January 1980 and, between 1979 and 1984, set up the Hamura Technical Center, a production company in Hong Kong, Yamagata Casio and Casio Electronic Manufacturing in quick succession. He took office in the midst of a business expansion that added musical instruments to calculators and watches.

He launched a digital camera in March 1995 and set up Casio Electronics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. in November 1995 to move production overseas. After an operating loss of ¥29.3 billion and a net loss of ¥20.9 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2010, the company transferred its TFT LCD business in April 2010 to Ortus Technology, a joint venture with Toppan Printing, merged its mobile phone business into NEC Casio Mobile Communications in June 2010, and sold its WLP-related business to Tera Probe in October 2011.
