Background
He joined JEOL in April 1986. He became an Executive Officer in June 2013, 27 years after joining. He served as Director and Executive Officer from June 2015 and Director and Managing Executive Officer from June 2016, and became Representative Director, President and COO in June 2019. His predecessor Gonemon Kurihara had also joined in 1971 and spent 37 years inside the company before becoming President.

Operating income rose to ¥14.1 billion in FY ended March 2022 and ¥24.2 billion in FY ended March 2023, and in FY ended March 2025 net sales of ¥196.7 billion and operating income of ¥35.5 billion were 1.8 times and 5.3 times the ¥111.3 billion and ¥6.7 billion of the year before he took office. In FY ended March 2026 net sales fell to ¥179.4 billion and operating income to ¥26.0 billion.
