Background
He joined Kokusai Electric in April 1986. He became manager of Asia sales in the Electronic Machinery Division in April 2007 and deputy head of the Sales Headquarters in April 2013, and in April 2014 he concurrently headed the Sales Headquarters and chaired Hitachi Kokusai Electric (Shanghai). After the June 2018 split he rose from head of sales to Executive Officer, extending his remit to China business strategy in April 2021 and corporate planning, public relations and IR in April 2023. Whereas his predecessor Fumiyuki Kanai was an engineer, he is a President from sales.

In April 2025 he succeeded Fumiyuki Kanai, who had served seven years, as Representative Director, President and Executive Officer. In the fiscal year ended March 2025, the year before he took office, net sales were ¥238.9 billion, operating income ¥51.3 billion and net income ¥36.0 billion, all up from ¥180.8 billion, ¥30.7 billion and ¥22.4 billion the previous year. He had joined the board in June 2024, becoming President in his first year as a Director.

At the end of March 2026 the largest shareholders were The Master Trust Bank of Japan with 13.23%, KKR HKE INVESTMENT L.P. with 10.57% and Qatar Holding LLC with 4.93%.
