Background
He left Okuma Iron Works in October 1975 and joined THK. He served as manager of the Kofu Plant from April 1977, Director and General Manager of Operations from March 1982 and Managing Director and head of the Administration Division from June 1987, becoming Director and Executive Vice President in June 1994. From June 1986 he also served as a Director of Daito Seiki, becoming its Representative Director and President in May 1995.
Selection
In January 1997 he rose from Director and Executive Vice President to President, two years and seven months after becoming Executive Vice President. At the same time he stepped down as president of Daito Seiki to become its Chairman, and in June that year also became Chairman of Yasuda Co. (now THK Niigata).
Initiatives
From 1998 he became chairman of the local subsidiaries in the U.S., Ireland, Europe and Taiwan, and from 2003 also served as chairman of the companies in Shanghai, Wuxi and Liaoning and of the investment company in China. In May 2007 he became Representative Director and Chairman of Rhythm, and in 2015 took the top posts at the RHYTHM AUTOMOTIVE companies in North America and Europe. Consolidated net sales grew from ¥89.3 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2002 to ¥353.5 billion in FY ended December 2018.
