Background
He joined Daikyo Oil in April 1979. At Cosmo Oil he became Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2013, then Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer of Cosmo Energy Holdings in October 2015 and Representative Director and Executive Vice President in June 2016. He spent all 38 years from joining to becoming President in 2017 within Cosmo Oil and its holding company.

In the fiscal year ended March 2016, the holding company's first, the company posted an operating loss of ¥29.7 billion and a net loss of ¥50.2 billion on consolidated revenue of ¥2,244.3 billion. In April 2023 he moved to Representative Director and Chairman and handed the presidency to Shigeru Yamada.
