Background

He joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry in April 1978, served as head of the APEC Promotion Office from January 1995 and director of the Electronics Policy Division from July 1998, and left in July 2000. That month he founded Yas Create and became its Representative Director and President, and he has also been director of research at the Stanford Japan Center from September 2000 and a board member of the center from August 2002. He became a Director of Woodland Corporation in November 2002, its Representative Director and President in April 2003, and Chairman of Ascendia Inc. in June 2005. He held only 2,240 Future shares at the end of the fiscal year ended December 2009.

Selection

In January 2007 Future System Consulting absorbed Woodland Corporation and changed its name to Future Architect, Inc. Shin Yasunobu had been Representative Director and President of Woodland, the absorbed company, and became Representative Director and President of Future in the same month as the merger. His predecessor, Yasufumi Kanemaru, had served as Representative Director, Chairman and President since March 2006 and remained as Representative Director and Chairman after handing over the presidency. Kanemaru's stake was 41.95% at the end of the fiscal year ended December 2005, and still reached 47.14% at the end of FY ended December 2010 when combined with the 25.08% of Key West Network Ltd.

Initiatives

He repeatedly consolidated and reorganized subsidiaries. In December 2007 the company absorbed Swan Co., Ltd. and Y's Ware Co., Ltd., and the same month its subsidiary Elm Co., Ltd. absorbed four companies including Fit Co., Ltd. Elm went on to absorb eManufacturing Co., Ltd. in December 2008 and Xebec Land Co., Ltd. in December 2009. In January 2008 the company took a stake in Zakura Co., Ltd. Consolidated revenue grew from ¥15.3 billion in the fiscal year ended December 2006, before he took office, to ¥28.2 billion in FY ended December 2008, then fell back to ¥22.6 billion in FY ended December 2010, while operating income moved between ¥2.6 billion and ¥3.1 billion.
