Initiatives
In 2014 the company acquired the ophthalmic pharmaceuticals business of U.S.-based Merck and took over its anti-rheumatic drug business at the same time. Consolidated revenue grew 2.3 times, from ¥98.4 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2006, before he took office, to ¥224.9 billion in FY ended March 2018, his final year. Net income also rose from ¥13.0 billion to ¥35.2 billion. Over 12 years in office he lifted the company's revenue scale from the ¥100 billion range to the ¥200 billion range.
