Background
He joined Nomura Research Institute in April 1976, became a Director in June 2001 and an Executive Officer in April 2002. He became Managing Executive Officer in April 2004 and Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in June 2008. Over his six fiscal years, consolidated revenue grew from ¥326.3 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2011 to ¥421.4 billion in FY ended March 2016, and operating income from ¥38.4 billion to ¥58.3 billion. Net income also went from ¥23.1 billion to ¥42.6 billion. From April 2015 he served for a year as Representative Director, Chairman and President, and in April 2016 handed the presidency to Shingo Konomoto and moved to Chairman.
