Background
He joined Tokuyama in April 1989. He served as a manager in the Business Promotion Project Group from December 2012, a manager in the Corporate Planning Group from May 2013, and leader of the Resource Recycling Group from April 2015. He became General Manager of Cement Manufacturing in April 2018 and, in April 2021, Executive Officer and Deputy General Manager of the Cement Division concurrently with General Manager of Cement Manufacturing, and from April 2022 he also served as Representative Director and President of Tokuyama Chiyoda Gypsum. He became Director, Managing Executive Officer and General Manager of the Environmental Business Division in June 2023, and General Manager of Corporate Planning in April 2024.

In the fiscal year ended March 2026, the year before he took office, net sales were ¥349.5 billion and operating income ¥37.0 billion, the second straight year of higher sales and profit from ¥341.9 billion and ¥25.6 billion in FY ended March 2024. Having worked in cement manufacturing and run a group company, Inoue had been General Manager of Corporate Planning since April 2024. The appointment promoted an executive who had seen both the front line of the core business and company-wide planning.
