He founded Sakura Internet in December 1996 and became Representative Director and President when it was incorporated in August 1999. He stepped back to Executive Vice President in December 2000 and to Director and Chief Operating Officer in June 2004. Among major shareholders in the FY ended March 2026, he himself was the second largest with 12.83%, behind Sojitz at 14.8%. After the corporate shareholder Sojitz, the founder's personal stake remains near the top.

Since the move to consolidated reporting in the FY ended March 2016, sales have grown from ¥12.1 billion to ¥31.4 billion in the FY ended March 2025, and operating income from ¥1.0 billion to ¥4.1 billion. In the FY ended March 2026 sales rose to ¥35.3 billion, while the company posted an operating loss of ¥400 million.
