Background

In June 1997 he established SRS Ltd. in Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture, and became Representative Director. In August 1999 that company and Kunihiro Tanaka's Inforest Ltd. jointly invested to establish Sakura Internet in Chuo-ku, Osaka. Sasada was Representative Director and Executive Vice President at the founding, with Tanaka as President. In February 2000 SRS moved its head office to Nishi-ku, Osaka, and converted into SRS Co., Ltd., and in April that year the two investing companies were absorbed into Sakura Internet.

Selection

In December 2000 he became Representative Director and President of the merged SRS Sakura Internet. Kunihiro Tanaka, President at the founding, moved to Representative Director and Executive Vice President the same month, and the two swapped posts. When he took office Sasada was 28 and Tanaka 22. From June 2004 Sasada also served as Chief Executive Officer and Tanaka as Chief Operating Officer. As of the FY ended March 2006, both held the same 6,400 shares.

Initiatives

The company opened data centers in quick succession, at Sunshine (about 140.9 square meters) in August 2001, Ikebukuro (about 464.4 square meters) in July 2002, Dojima (about 770 square meters) in April 2004 and Shinjuku (about 921.7 square meters) in June that year, closing the original Tokyo Data Center 1 after moving its equipment. In July 2004 it changed its name to Sakura Internet, and in October 2005 listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market. It made Ixphase a subsidiary through a share acquisition in December that year and Kairos in January 2006.
