Background
He joined Kagome in April 1983. He led the food service business as general manager of the food service business unit from April 2003 and as Executive Officer heading the food service division from April 2010. He moved to head of the innovation division in October 2015 and head of the vegetable business division in October 2018. He became Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2019. He was appointed 36 years after joining, following successive stints heading the food service, innovation and vegetable divisions.

In the fiscal year ended December 2019, the year before he took office, consolidated revenue was ¥180.8 billion and operating income ¥14.1 billion, with revenue down from ¥209.9 billion the previous year. Operating income recovered to ¥14.0 billion in the FY ended December 2021, and grew to revenue of ¥224.7 billion and operating income of ¥17.5 billion in the FY ended December 2023 and revenue of ¥306.9 billion and operating income of ¥36.2 billion in the FY ended December 2024. In the FY ended December 2025, his final year, revenue was ¥294.3 billion and operating income ¥22.6 billion.
