He joined Sumitomo Bank in September 1991 and moved to House Foods in July 1997. Five years after joining, in June 2002, he became a director, then Representative Director in June 2004 and Representative Director and Executive Vice President that July, and president in April 2009. Major shareholders in the FY ended March 2006 included House Kosan with 11.35%, the Urakami Foundation for Food and Food Culture Promotion with 2.59%, and Setsuko Urakami with 2.47%. The shareholder structure appears to give the founding-family side backing from capital.
