He joined Kikkoman in April 1974 and advanced to Executive Officer in June 2003, Managing Executive Officer in June 2006, and Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2008. In June 2011 he became Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer, at the same time becoming Representative Director and President of the operating company Kikkoman Food Products.
