Background

He joined The Tokai Bank (now MUFG Bank) in April 2001 and moved to ASKUL in March 2007. Within the company he served in turn as head of the LOHACO business, head of logistics and head of business strategy, and became Representative Director, President and CEO in August 2026. His career has taken him through mail-order demand forecasting and the logistics front lines in succession; his initial responsibilities after moving from the bank cannot be traced in the annual securities reports.

Education: Keio University, Faculty of Law (2001)

Selection

His predecessor was Akira Yoshioka, president since August 2019, and Takeshi Narimatsu was appointed 19 years after joining ASKUL. In the fiscal year ended May 2026, just before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥400.2 billion with an operating loss of ¥17.4 billion, a sharp reversal into the red from net sales of ¥481.1 billion and operating income of ¥14.0 billion the previous year. Among shareholders, LY Corporation holds 46.89% and PLUS 11.54%, so the two companies control nearly 60% of the voting rights.
