Background

At NTT Communications he became a Director in June 2010 and Representative Director and Executive Vice President in June 2014. In June 2018 he moved to Kyowa Exeo as Representative Director and Executive Vice President, and a year later, in June 2019, became Representative Director and President. His only officer experience inside Exeo was that one year as Executive Vice President. From June 2023 he also served as Representative Director and Chairman of the Information and Telecommunication Engineering Association.

Selection

In June 2019 he succeeded Fuminori Kozono as Representative Director and President. The acquisition of three telecom construction companies as subsidiaries, decided under his predecessor, boosted sales, and in the fiscal year ended March 2019, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥423.7 billion, up 35% from ¥312.7 billion the previous year. The change came while integration was expanding the company's scale, and the appointment appears to have entrusted post-reorganization operations to an Executive Vice President from the NTT side.

Initiatives

In 2021 the company changed its name from Kyowa Exeo to EXEO Group and reorganized its business into three segments by customer category. Consolidated net sales rose 58% from ¥423.7 billion in FY ended March 2019 to ¥670.8 billion in his final year, FY ended March 2025, and operating profit grew from ¥31.7 billion to ¥42.5 billion. However, operating profit in FY ended March 2023 was ¥32.6 billion, down 23% from ¥42.4 billion the previous year, and net sales in FY ended March 2024 shrank to ¥614.1 billion.
