Background

At NTT Communications he served as general manager of the integrated customer service department from July 2009 and as a Director from June 2017. From June 2020 he spent two years as Representative Director and President of the group company NTT Com Engineering, and in June 2022 returned to NTT Communications as Representative Director and Executive Vice President. In June 2024 he moved to EXEO Group as Representative Director and Executive Vice President, and a year later, in June 2025, became Representative Director and President.

Selection

In June 2025 he succeeded Tetsuya Funahashi as Representative Director and President. His predecessor had also moved to Exeo from Representative Director and Executive Vice President of NTT Communications and become President after a year as Executive Vice President, so the same path continued for two generations. In the fiscal year ended March 2025, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥670.8 billion and operating profit ¥42.5 billion, both up from ¥614.1 billion and ¥34.1 billion the previous year. The change came while results were growing, and the appointment appears to have assumed continuity of course.

In his first year, the fiscal year ended March 2026, consolidated net sales were ¥787.7 billion and operating profit ¥52.0 billion, up 17% and 22% respectively from ¥670.8 billion and ¥42.5 billion. Net income also rose from ¥26.9 billion to ¥31.0 billion. Only a little over a year after taking office, it is not yet possible to separate the effect of his own measures from the results.
