Background
He joined Daido Life Insurance in April 1989. He became an Executive Officer of Daido Life in April 2016 and Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2019. In April 2022 he moved to the holding company T&D Holdings as Senior Managing Executive Officer, becoming Representative Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in June 2023. After 33 years at a life insurer in the group, he served two years at the holding company before rising to President.

In April 2024 he became Representative Director and President, succeeding Hirohisa Uehara. Two years earlier, in the fiscal year ended March 2023, the group had posted a consolidated net loss of ¥132.1 billion, and in the fiscal year ended March 2024, the year before he took office, it had just returned to net income of ¥98.7 billion. The man who had handled the loss as Senior Managing Executive Officer went on to take over as President.
Initiatives
Consolidated net income was ¥126.4 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2025 and ¥139.0 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2026, with ordinary profit rising to ¥257.2 billion. For shareholder returns, the group set out a policy of devoting 50-60% of annual profit to cash dividends and share buybacks, and of reducing its strategic shareholdings, excluding those in business partners and the like, to zero by the end of March 2031.
