Background
He joined the company in July 1986, became an Executive Officer in August 2012 and a Corporate Executive Vice President in April 2014. He became a Director in June 2015 and Senior Managing Executive Officer in June 2016, and served as CFO from April 2017. He became President after six years as CFO, a career employee with no experience at other companies. It took him 36 years and nine months from joining to become President.

In April 2023 he succeeded Yoshinori Yamashita as Representative Director, President and CEO. In the fiscal year ended March 2023, the year before he took office, net sales were ¥2,134.2 billion, operating income ¥78.7 billion and net income ¥54.4 billion, just after the company had recovered within two years from an operating loss of ¥45.4 billion in the FY ended March 2021. Consolidated employees had fallen from 91,194 in the FY ended March 2021 to 81,107 in the FY ended March 2023. The move from CFO to President appears to have been meant to hand him the task of restoring profitability.
Initiatives
Sales grew in each of the three years after he took office, reaching net sales of ¥2,608.3 billion, operating income of ¥90.7 billion and net income of ¥55.7 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2026. Net sales were ¥474.1 billion higher than the ¥2,134.2 billion of the year before he took office. Under its 21st Mid-Term Management Strategy, the company set out to transform into "a digital services company that connects workplaces and supports the creativity of the people who work there" and to grow its service businesses in Europe and the United States.
