Background
He joined Tokyo Seimitsu in April 1986, became a Director in June 2005 and President and Executive Officer of the Semiconductor Company in August 2007. He became Representative Director in June 2011 and Representative Director, Executive Vice President and COO in April 2015, spending the seven years before becoming President as Executive Vice President. A career employee, he led the Semiconductor Company, which handles semiconductor manufacturing equipment, from 2007, coming up on the equipment side rather than metrology.

In the same month of April 2022, the company moved from the First Section to the Prime Market under the Tokyo Stock Exchange's market restructuring. In the fiscal year ended March 2022, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥130.7 billion and operating income ¥28.3 billion, higher sales and profits than the ¥97.1 billion and ¥15.6 billion of the FY ended March 2021. The appointment appears to have put the Executive Vice President who led the semiconductor manufacturing equipment business in charge at a time when demand for that equipment was growing.

They recovered to ¥150.5 billion and ¥29.7 billion in the FY ended March 2025, and to ¥166.8 billion, operating income of ¥33.7 billion and net income of ¥24.7 billion in the FY ended March 2026. A new mid-term management plan began in fiscal 2025.
