Background
He joined Rinnai in April 1983 and became a Director eight years later, in June 1991. After serving as Managing Director from June 2003 and Director and Managing Executive Officer from June 2005, he became Representative Director and President that November. Among the major shareholders in his first year, FY ended March 2006, were holdings in the Naito name at 9.98%, Susumu Naito at 4.93% and Noriko Naito at 1.88%, totaling 16.79% under the Naito surname, followed by Kenji Hayashi at 4.89%. With shareholders of the same surname at the top, he reached the board eight years after joining.

Net sales in his first year, FY ended March 2006, reported on a non-consolidated basis, were ¥212.9 billion.
