He joined TOTO in April 1991 and became an Executive Officer 25 years later, in April 2016. He became Director and Managing Executive Officer in June 2019 and Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in April 2024, and was named President a year later. It took him 34 years from joining to become President, a career path almost identical to that of his predecessor Noriaki Kiyota (36 years from joining).

He was promoted one year after becoming Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer. In the fiscal year before he took over, ended March 2025, consolidated net sales rose to ¥724.4 billion from ¥702.2 billion the year before, while net income fell to ¥12.1 billion, a third of the prior year's ¥37.1 billion.

In his first year, FY ended March 2026, consolidated net sales were ¥737.4 billion, operating profit ¥53.8 billion, ordinary profit ¥60.7 billion and net income ¥40.3 billion, higher sales and profit than the prior year's ¥724.4 billion in sales and ¥48.5 billion in operating profit. Net income rebounded 3.3-fold from ¥12.1 billion, surpassing the ¥38.9 billion of FY ended March 2023.
