Background
A career employee, he joined the company in April 1985 and became President 36 years later, in April 2021. He became an Executive Officer in April 2016, Managing Executive Officer in April 2018 and Senior Managing Executive Officer in April 2020, adding a Director's seat in June of that year. Under the mid-term management plan Vista2027, he has expanded the business with agricultural chemicals and performance materials at its core. Consolidated net sales grew from ¥209.1 billion in the fiscal year ended March 2021, the year before he took office, to ¥251.3 billion in FY ended March 2025, and operating income from ¥42.5 billion to ¥56.8 billion. Net income also rose from ¥33.4 billion to ¥43.0 billion. Consolidated employees went from 2,688 in FY ended March 2021 to 3,137 in FY ended March 2024.
