Background
He joined INCS in April 2000, founded SHIFT in September 2005 and became its Representative Director and President. Since September 2012 he has also been a Director of SHIFT GLOBAL. Even in the FY ended August 2025, 20 years after the founding, Masaru Tange was the largest shareholder with 30.62% of issued shares, ahead of second-ranked The Master Trust Bank of Japan at 11.22% and third-ranked Custody Bank of Japan at 7.96%.

He had no predecessor. He became Representative Director and President at the founding in September 2005. His five years and five months at INCS, which he joined in April 2000, were his entire career before becoming President. He was not chosen for the post but headed a company he founded himself. Consolidated net sales grew 59-fold in 11 years, from ¥2.2 billion in the FY ended August 2014 to ¥129.8 billion in the FY ended August 2025. Operating income also rose from ¥100 million to ¥15.6 billion over the same period. Sales of ¥5.5 billion in the FY ended August 2016 rose to ¥28.7 billion in the FY ended August 2020 and passed ¥100 billion at ¥110.6 billion in the FY ended August 2024. In the FY ended August 2024 operating income fell from ¥11.6 billion the year before to ¥10.5 billion, but it recovered to ¥15.6 billion in the FY ended August 2025.
