Background
He joined Tokyu Land Corporation in April 1982 and became a Director in June 2011. With the move to a holding company in October 2013 he became a Director of Tokyu Fudosan Holdings, and rose to Senior Managing Executive Officer in April 2014. A career employee, he spent the 33 years from joining to the presidency within the same group. As of the FY ended March 2016, Tokyu Corporation was the largest shareholder with 15.12%, followed by trust banks and life insurers, with no individuals in the top ten.

In April 2015 he succeeded Kiyoshi Kanazashi as President. He was the second president of the holding company launched in October 2013, promoted a year after becoming Senior Managing Executive Officer. In the FY ended March 2015, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥773.1 billion, operating income ¥63.3 billion and net income ¥25.2 billion, up in both sales and profit from ¥714.0 billion, ¥61.4 billion and ¥23.7 billion the year before.

Over his six periods, consolidated net sales grew from ¥773.1 billion in the FY ended March 2015 to ¥963.1 billion in the FY ended March 2020, and operating income from ¥63.3 billion to ¥79.3 billion. Net income also rose from ¥25.2 billion to ¥38.6 billion. In April 2017, while remaining President of the holding company, he also became Representative Director and President of the core operating company Tokyu Land Corporation, moving to its Chairman in June 2020.
