Background
He joined Macnica in September 1995. He served as President of the Tecstar Company from April 2011 and head of the Innovation Strategy Business Headquarters from April 2018, and became a Director in June 2018. In the FY ended March 2016, the holding company's first fiscal year, the largest shareholder was Haruki Kamiyama with 27.95%, and Hara's name was not among the top ten. He was a career employee promoted without a shareholding.
Selection
In June 2019 he succeeded Kiyoshi Nakajima as President. He had joined the board only the year before, in June 2018, so it was a promotion after one year as a Director. In the FY ended March 2019, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales were ¥524.2 billion and operating income ¥15.3 billion, flat from ¥504.1 billion and ¥15.2 billion the year before. The structure of two operating companies side by side under the holding company was still in place, and the change appears to have entrusted him with completing their integration.
Initiatives
In 2020 the company absorbed Fuji Electronics by merger, consolidating its operating companies into Macnica. Consolidated net sales rose from ¥524.2 billion in the FY ended March 2019, the year before he took office, to ¥1,029.3 billion in the FY ended March 2023, and were ¥1,214.2 billion in the FY ended March 2026. Operating income also grew from ¥15.3 billion to ¥63.7 billion in the FY ended March 2024.
