Background
He joined in April 1983. He served as general manager of Shandong Longteng Fuji Foodstuffs in China from March 2004 and became Executive Officer in April 2014. In April 2017 he became Representative Director and President of the operating company Fuji Oil and the group's COO, joining the holding company's board that June. He was appointed after eight years as president of the operating company.
Selection
He became President, Executive Officer and CEO in April 2025, and in June succeeded Mikio Sakai as Representative Director and President. In the fiscal year ended March 2025, the year before he took office, consolidated net sales rose to ¥671.2 billion from ¥564.1 billion the previous year, while operating income fell from ¥18.2 billion to ¥9.9 billion and net income from ¥6.5 billion to ¥2.2 billion. The appointment appears to have entrusted a former operating-company president with reversing a situation in which profit was thinning despite rising sales.
Initiatives
In the FY ended March 2026, his first year, consolidated net sales were ¥772.3 billion, operating income ¥29.8 billion and net income ¥12.3 billion, all above the previous year's ¥671.2 billion, ¥9.9 billion and ¥2.2 billion. Operating income also exceeded the ¥18.2 billion of the FY ended March 2024. At the end of the FY ended March 2026, the largest shareholder was ITOCHU Food Investment with 42.52%, and ITOCHU Corporation also held 1.32%.
