Background
He joined ITO EN in April 1987 and became a director three years later, in July 1990. He advanced to Managing Director in May 1997 and Senior Managing Director in May 2000, and became Representative Director and Executive Vice President in July 2002, 15 years after joining. Among major shareholders in the FY ended April 2026, the largest was Green Core with 19.68%, and Daisuke Honjo himself ranked eighth with 1.22%.
Selection
In May 2009 he succeeded Hachiro Honjo, president for 21 years, as Representative Director and President. Hachiro moved to Representative Director and Chairman that same month. The promotion came seven years after he became Representative Director and Executive Vice President and 22 years after joining. Compared with the speed of becoming a director three years after joining, there was a long gap between executive vice president and president.
Initiatives
In May 2011 former president Hachiro Honjo became Representative Director and Chairman of Chichiyasu. In June 2012 he also became Chairman of the Board of ITO EN Asia Pacific Holdings. Daisuke Honjo himself has served as Chairman of the Board of Distant Lands Trading Co. in North America since May 2019, and during his tenure the overseas business extended in two directions, Asia and North America.
