Background
He joined Matsushita Electric Industrial in April 1988 and by April 2010 was a manager in the development group of Panasonic's System LSI Division. Socionext was formed by combining the system LSI businesses of Fujitsu and Panasonic, and in March 2015 he moved there as head of the Fourth Development Department of the IoT Systems Division. He continued on the development side, becoming Managing Executive Officer and head of Global Development in April 2022 and Director, Executive Vice President in charge of development in April 2024.

In the fiscal year ended March 2025, the year before he took office, operating revenue was ¥188.5 billion and operating income ¥25.0 billion, down in both from the record ¥221.2 billion and ¥35.5 billion of the previous year. The change put the man who had led development in charge during a year of falling profits.

In the fiscal year ended March 2026, his first full-year results, operating revenue returned to growth at ¥200.8 billion, while operating income halved to ¥12.4 billion from ¥25.0 billion the previous year.
